Ronald John Wooten (born June 29, 1959 in Bourne, Massachusetts) was a guard who played seven professional seasons with the New England Patriots in the National Football League. Wooten attended the University of North Carolina. Wooten is now the president of NovaQuest and the executive vice president of corporate development at Quintiles Transnational Corporation. ==Background== Ron Wooten serves as president of (NovaQuest ) and executive vice president of corporate development at (Quintiles Transnational Corporation ), a position he has held since 2003. In this capacity, he advised corporate clients on mergers and acquisition, as well as corporate finance strategies. His capital markets and corporate finance experience includes mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity finance, and fixed income advisory. Earlier in his career at First Union, Wooten helped formulate the product offerings and delivery channels for the company's capital markets business. Mr. Ronald J. Wooten is married to Ann Wooten, also a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They have two children, Rachel and Ryan Wooten, who also graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
